Horrible punishment for murder in 1873.
The Musquakie Indians,in Jasper County, inflicted a terrible punishment upon a murderer of their tribe last week. He had killed a squaw and was tried by the tribe and sentenced to death. They tied him to a log, face up, and left him to starve, which he did in eight days, the Indians guarding him all the time.
